Construction delays have postponed the opening of the new SPS Field House & Gymnasium. As you can see from the photo, the 23,000+ square foot campus addition is nearly complete, but construction delays have forced the school to postpone its opening. The delay has also pushed back the Field House Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony & Alumni Brick Entrance Unveiling. Headmaster Dick Heath reports that the Field House will open for student use in mid June 2008 and will be used over the summer for various SPS, SummerPrep and community events.
The delay has not dampened the enthusiasm of the SPS community. SPS Athletic Director Pete MacFarlane said, "It’s difficult to be patient, but in the long run this is going to be an awesome facility."
